Getting Started

What is POSYX?
POSYX is a modern, offline-first point of sale system for retailers. It helps you sell faster, track inventory accurately, and stay productive even when the internet is unreliable.
Do I need internet to use POSYX?
No. POSYX saves your work locally first. When you’re online again, the app syncs changes automatically in the background.
What’s the best first setup workflow?
Set your Settings, add Products (with correct SKU/price), then record opening stock via Stock Count or Cash Purchases so your inventory is accurate from day one.

Sales

Can I keep selling if the internet goes off mid-sale?
Yes. The POS Terminal is designed to work offline. Sales are captured locally and sync when you reconnect.
How does inventory change during a sale?
Stock decreases as you sell. POSYX records the sale and keeps stock consistent via stock movements so you can trace how inventory changed.
Where do I see completed transactions?
Open Sales History to review transactions, totals, and invoice numbers for reconciliation.

Inventory & Stock

How do I correct stock if my physical count doesn’t match?
Use Stock Count to align the system quantity to your physical count, or record a Stock Adjustment with a reason (shrinkage, damage, correction, etc.).
Can I edit stock directly?
Stock is derived from movements (sales, purchases, adjustments, supplier receipts). This approach keeps inventory auditable and consistent across devices.
What’s the difference between Cash Purchases and Stock Adjustments?
Cash Purchases increase stock as a purchase event (often with costs). Stock Adjustments are for corrections and exceptions (damage, shrinkage, stocktake correction).

Suppliers & Orders

How do I receive a supplier order into inventory?
Go to Receive Orders, select an order, enter received quantities per item, and complete receiving. POSYX will create stock movements that increase inventory.
Can I receive an order partially?
Yes. Partial receiving is supported — you can receive what arrived now and complete the rest later.
What happens if I’m offline while receiving?
Receiving still saves locally first. When you reconnect, it will sync in the background.

Sync & Reliability

How do I know if anything is still waiting to sync?
POSYX includes online/sync indicators in the dashboard top bar. If you’re offline, keep working — pending items sync once you reconnect.
What should I do if something won’t sync?
Confirm you’re online, then leave the dashboard open for a few minutes. If an error persists, contact support with what you were doing and the page you were on.
